By Dave Jacobs Fishing season in the far north of California is year round. Trout, striper, sturgeon and shad fishing on the Sacramento (Sac) river will be what anglers are looking for shortly before the arrival of spring. Sturgeon on the Sac in March. Striper fishing on the Sac in April and May. Trout on the Sac April, May, June, July. Shad on the Sac and Feather River in May/June. Salmon fishing on the Feather April thru July. Salmon on the Trinity in May, June and July. Steelhead on the Trinity Oct., Nov. and Dec. Get out there and just fish! Remember, sticky sharp hooks get em'! Good fishing.
